I love lemon flavored treats. I definitely get my love for lemons from my Mom. We enjoy eating fresh lemons (and limes), topped with a sprinkle of salt. YUM!
I was so excited to try out a new recipe and technique that I just had to ship my mom some citrus cookies.
I have been dying to make these lemon poppyseed cookies ever since I stumbled across them on The Sweet Adventures of SugarBelle. I also fell in love with the fruit cookies in The Confetti Cakes Cookbook. **I really like her technique of using thicker icing for the segments and a paintbrush to smooth and add texture. **
The Sweet Adventures of SugarBelle and I must have been on the same brainwave because she posted this awesome tutorial while I was icing my cookies. Luckily, I happened to have a few extra cookies to try it out on.
